Privacy Policy

Effective date July 6, 2026 · Last updated July 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Buddybird (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information in connection with the BuddyBird mobile application (the “Service”).

BuddyBird is used without account registration or login, and we do not collect your name, email address, or phone number. We do collect limited analytics and diagnostic information through third-party tools to operate the app and improve its quality, as described below. The Service is intended for a general audience of parrot guardians and is not directed to children under 13 (see Section 6).

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information collected automatically (analytics & diagnostics)

1.2 Information you provide

Some of this text (such as the parrot name and word names) is sent to analytics tools (Google Firebase, Microsoft Clarity) for usability analysis. This is information about your pet and learning content, not about you personally.

1.3 Information we do not collect

2. How We Use Information

We do not offer account registration, login, payment, customer accounts, or advertising/marketing features. We use the information above only for the following purposes:

3. How We Share Information (Service Providers)

We do not sell your personal information. We use the following service providers to analyze usage and diagnose errors on our behalf. Information is transmitted to them encrypted over HTTPS/TLS.

Google LLC (Firebase)

Microsoft Corporation (Clarity)

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

4. Data Retention

Automatically collected analytics and diagnostic data is retained according to each provider’s data-retention policy (for example, Firebase Analytics up to 14 months; Firebase Crashlytics approximately 90 days).

Information you enter (parrot information, learning words, etc.) is stored on your device by default and is deleted, together with anonymous identifiers, when you uninstall the app.

5. Data Location & International Transfer

We are based in the Republic of Korea, and our analytics providers process data in the United States. As a result, your information may be processed and stored in the United States and the Republic of Korea. Where required, transfers are made using appropriate safeguards and providers’ standard data-protection terms.

6. Children’s Privacy

The Service is intended for a general audience, primarily adults who keep parrots, and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.

If a child under 13 uses the Service, we recommend that they do so under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without the required parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. Parents or guardians may contact us at joynnovate@gmail.com to review or request deletion of a child’s information.

7. Your Privacy Choices

You can control analytics and tracking as follows:

Even if you decline, the app’s core learning features continue to work.

8. Your U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence (for example, California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or Texas), you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:

Categories of personal information

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), we collect the following categories: identifiers (device and advertising identifiers); internet or other electronic network activity (app usage and session replay); and approximate geolocation (city/region-level, not precise). We do not collect Social Security or government ID numbers, financial account information, precise geolocation, or biometric information.

Sale & sharing

We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration, and we do not use it to serve you targeted advertising. Our analytics providers do collect advertising and device identifiers; to the extent this is considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under applicable state law, you may opt out at any time using your device’s advertising settings and, on iOS, by declining tracking (see Section 7). We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

Sensitive personal information

We do not collect precise geolocation or other sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information beyond the purposes permitted by law.

How to exercise your rights

You may submit a request by emailing joynnovate@gmail.com. Because the Service operates without accounts or login, we generally cannot associate the analytics data we collect with your identity, which may limit our ability to locate data specific to you. The most effective ways to control your information are to uninstall the app (which deletes on-device data and anonymous identifiers) and to use the choices described in Section 7. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights, and where your state provides an appeal process, you may appeal a decision by replying to our response.

California “Shine the Light”

We do not disclose personal information to third parties for those third parties’ own direct marketing purposes.

9. Security

Information is transmitted using encryption (HTTPS/TLS), and we maintain reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies from its effective date. We may update it to reflect changes in law or in the Service; when we do, we will post the updated policy on this page with a new effective date.
